“Cry Macho” star Clint Eastwood is the focus of the internet’s woke cancel culture mob for making a racially insensitive joke… 48 years ago.

A clip from the 1973 Academy Awards show has been circulating on Twitter this week from what was supposed to be Marlon Brando’s acceptance speech for winning the best actor award for his role in “The Godfather,” but turned into a political statement when he sent a Native American activist on stage to collect his Oscar.

Brando had activist Sacheen Littlefeather speak for him in protest of the way that Native Americans were treated by the film industry at the time.

“I’m representing Marlon Brando this evening, and he has asked me to tell you, in a very long speech — which I cannot share with you presently because of time, but I will be glad to share with the press afterwards — that he very regretfully cannot accept this very generous award,” Littlefeather said.

“And the reasons for this being are the treatment of American Indians today by the film industry, and on television in movie reruns, and also with recent happenings at Wounded Knee,” she continued. “I beg at this time that I have not intruded upon this evening and that we will in the future, our hearts and our understandings, will meet with love and generosity.”

Eastwood later took the stage to present the best picture award for “The Godfather,” and made a tasteless quip that gained raucous applause from the famous audience members.

“I don’t know if I should present this award, on behalf of all the cowboys shot in all the John Ford Westerns over the years,” said the actor, who made an early career out of starring in westerns “The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly,” “For A Few Dollars More,” and “Hang Em’ High.”

Progressive activist Rafael Shimunov posted the clip to shame Eastwood for mocking Littlefeather for “simply asking that Indegnous people not be dehumanized in film.” He also posted a series of articles despaging the 91-year-old actor for racism throughout his career.

One follower replied: “How many years ago was this? We grow, do better, and move on. We don’t live in the past. Good thing America is and continues to learn from its history.”

These libs are crazy. Pretty soon if your sneeze and it sounds like a slur to anyone at all, you will be criticized for it and be cast as a racist. These people don’t have a life. Otherwise they would be doing something constructive rather than destructive and divisive. Times change. What was fashionable and even funny or acceptable at one time in the past may not be now. Gee, I think that the things the Egyptians did to the Israelites was wrong also. But they don’t do it now thanks be to God!
